How long have I been sewing?
I get this question a lot, so I thought I'd answer here: Since I was about 7! My mom taught me all the basics of sewing machines, patterns, and skill / technique. (I know she cringed quietly to herself many times, at my risks and discarded botched projects in the trash, but that freedom allowed me to learn so much more...)
I made a lot of clothes during my childhood and teens: from ruffled nightgowns, to gaucho pants, to Gunne Sax dresses in my 1986 Home Ec class (I passed.)
As a taller dancer, I created my own leotards and unitards, to find more comfort in movement and in my body.
I recall making drapes and cushions for my dad's home, I was about 18? They remained in use for the rest of his life.
Eventually, I jumped into home decor and slipcovers as a profession.
A family's favorite comfy couch had turned into an un-comfy slouch....
Makeover Complete...
Family flopping spot is back in action!
Back cushions were restored to their original fill and shape. Bottom cushions received tighter, better fitting covers. Cozy, inviting, soft green chenille.
All back cushions received additional fill, and some needed further repair work after their dog chewed them. The bottom cushions needed a fresh wrap of dacron, as well as tighter fitting covers.
....Fresh, bright new look! Prewashed 12 oz cotton twill
